Identical twins at the helm in Poland

Warsaw: With conservative Lech Kaczynski emerging winner in the presidential runoff elections, Poland is all set to come under the tight grip of identical twins. Last month, the Law and Justice (PiS), founded by the Kaczynski and his identical twin Jaroslaw in 2001, finished first in a legislative election, just ahead of the rival Civic Platform (PO) party.

Poland's LOT Chooses Boeing Over Airbus

WARSAW, Poland (AP) - Poland's national carrier on Wednesday chose new jets from Boeing Co. instead of from Europe's Airbus consortium.
LOT ordered seven of Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner aircraft, a model slated to go into service in 2008, company spokesman Leszek Chorzewski said. He declined to provide the value of the contract.
